These people belong in hell

The Values Voters Summit is being held this weekend. It is an annual conservative conference sponsored by "American Values" and "Focus on the Family."

This is a conference that is all about promoting "family values" and claims to be "Christian."

So why was it doing this? According to the New York Times:

Activists at a conservative political forum snapped up boxes of waffle mix depicting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a racial stereotype on its front and wearing Arab-like headdress on its top flap...

…While Obama Waffles takes aim at Obama's politics by poking fun at his public remarks and positions on issues, it also plays off the old image of the pancake-mix icon Aunt Jemima, which has been widely criticized as a demeaning stereotype. Obama is portrayed with popping eyes and big, thick lips as he stares at a plate of waffles and smiles broadly.

Placing Obama in Arab-like headdress recalls the false rumor that he is a follower of Islam, though he is actually a Christian.

On the back of the box, Obama is depicted in stereotypical Mexican dress, including a sombrero, above a recipe for ''Open Border Fiesta Waffles'' that says it can serve ''4 or more illegal aliens.'' The recipe includes a tip: ''While waiting for these zesty treats to invade your home, why not learn a foreign language?''

Wearing white chef's aprons, Whitlock and DeMoss were doing a brisk business at noon Saturday selling the waffle mix to people crowded around their booth. Two pyramids of waffle mix boxes stood several feet high on the booth's table.

These obscene and utterly disgusting people who call themselves Christian should be condemned by every decent American. The people whom these so-called Christians support should also be condemned. I'm talking about you John McCain and Sarah Palin. You actively seek the endorsement of these people.

These are the people who want to turn our country into a theocracy, a "Christian nation," where the Ten Commandments are posted everywhere and children are forced to pray in schools, women whose lives are threatened by a pregnancy are forced to remain pregnant, and gay individuals will be shoved back in the closet. And apparently, in this theocracy, African Americans will be humiliated and treated like second class citizens. And obeying the commandments ("Thou shall not bear false witness," for example, and the command of Jesus to "Love your neighbor as yourself" will no longer be required.)

These people are not Christians. These people, who are constantly on a quest to find the anti-Christ, need only look in the mirror. Every one of them is the anti-Christ.

Apparently, their idea of family values and Christianity is to ridicule Barack Obama and all African Americans with disgusting racist merchandise.

And don't tell me the organizers are not to blame and the people there are not racists. The booth was open for three days before the organizers closed it down, and in the meantime hundreds of participants happily snapped up these "souvenirs."

In the meantime, on the website for the summit, there are pictures of all the "confirmed and invited participants." While Lou Dobbs, Tom DeLay and Newt Gingrich have a star on their picture, meaning they are confirmed speakers, the website also shows pictures of others, like Sarah Palin and John McCain who have no star, meaning they were invited but will not speak. What kind of conference lists the names and shows the pictures of people who will not speak?

And here's the kicker: right there on the front page with all the speakers, right next to the picture of Sarah Palin, is the picture of Barack Obama. These disgusting human beings actually invited Obama, even as they sold racist souvenirs with his picture on them.

If I believed in hell, I'd say these people need to rot there. At the very least, they need to choke on their waffles.
