A nation of 2 year olds?

New two minute long ad from Obama, by Obama, on the economy.

This morning Joke and Mika were criticizing it, saying it was boring and didn't hit hard enough. Then they showed a new McCain ad which they loved.

The Obama ad required you to pay attention for two minutes to one man speaking intelligently. If voters can do that, they'll like it. It packs a lot of concise information in a short period of time.

The McCain ad is geared to the Sesame Street crowd: those who can only pay attention for 30 seconds. It's flashy and shifts images continually, like Sesame Street.

Are we really a nation of 2 year olds? And should Obama gear all his ads to 2 year olds?

Seems to me Obama is gambling that there are more grown-ups in this nation - who don't have attention deficit disorder - than there are 2 years olds who must be continually entertained.

I don't know if he's right, but I want to believe he is. And if he is, then we have really turned a corner as a nation, and perhaps we can retire idiots like Mika and Joe and all those pundits who think you have to treat the people as stupid, racist, and brainwashed.
