Fighting the freedom of the press

Sarah Palin really could create her own character on Saturday Night Live. Here's what she said about her problems with the press to Carl Cameron of FOX News on the day after the debate:

As we send our young men and women overseas in a war zone to fight for democracy and freedoms, including freedom of the press, we've really got to have a mutually beneficial relationship here with those fighting the freedom of the press, and then the press, though not taking advantage and exploiting a situation, perhaps they would want to capture and abuse the privilege. We just want truth, we want fairness, we want balance."

Good God! Does she even know what she is saying? She doesn't do any better with FOX than she did with Katie Couric. It's not the interviewer. It's Palin. She doesn't have a clue.

Or maybe she does. She and McCain, and FOX News for that matter, really are fighting the freedom of the press, aren't they?
